TRAVEL
Arrival and Departure
It’s the responsibility of all in-person attendees to book and pay for their own travel arrangements to the Washington metropolitan area. The hotel and convention center is close to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport, and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Please allow time to get to and from the airport, or from your place of departure to the hotel. Be sure to review CDC guidelines on travel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Important Note: : Please book your travel once you have received your in-person attendance email confirmation. We recommend that you review cancellation clauses when making reservations as travel and COVID-19 protocols are constantly changing. In the event that Avon has to cancel the in-person event based on federal or state regulations, Avon is not responsible or liable for any incurred travel expenses.
Attire
Most meetings and events will require business casual attire. However, the dress code may vary. Please refer to the finalized agenda for recommendations as we get closer to our Convention weekend.
Bell Service
For assistance with luggage or to arrange a cab or car service, the bell stand is available from any house phone.
Credit Cards

Ground Transportation
Please plan to make your own arrangements for ground transportation to and from the airport. Taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts are widely available and easy to book at the airport.
Locked Luggage
The TSA urges travelers not to lock checked luggage. Security officials may perform searches of checked luggage and are authorized to cut the lock if necessary to inspect the bag.
Luggage Policy
Check with your airline for information regarding both carry-on luggage restrictions and checked baggage policies before heading to the airport. Most airlines allow one carry-on bag and one personal item at no extra charge. Just make sure they fit into the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. Attendees are responsible for any luggage expenses.
Meals
You are responsible for your own meals. There are no shortage of great dining options available within and around the hotel.
Medication
Make sure you have an adequate supply of prescription medications and carry a medical summary card with you if you have a chronic medical condition. Place essential medications in your carry-on bag and keep medications in their original containers, clearly labeled with the prescription number, date of issuance, your name and your physician’s name.
